EFT DMA and overlay w/o fuser

I'm waiting to receive a DMA card to get my hands on the eft dma software. I didn't want to invest directly in a 'fuser', but I was wondering if it would be possible to 'stream' and apply an overlay from the second PC for the ESP part without it?
